When the Premier comes to town the people of the North West make sure he’s well accommodated.

Colin Barnett is having a chat and maybe even a beer with Marble Bar locals at the town’s only watering hole – the iconic Iron Clad Hotel.

Earlier today, word on the Marble Bar’s street was that plenty of the 200-odd residents would be attending the bar to have a chinwag with Mr Barnett during his hour-long appearance.

It hasn’t been confirmed if any would be discussing the apparent discrepancies between temperatures recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology compared with the town’s digital thermometer.

But one thing is sure, Mr Barnett and his crew won’t go away hungry.

Iron Clad publican Thomas Fox said would be putting on a spread of specially made scones, jam and cream.

“Colin Barnett will be at the Iron Clad Hotel today at 2:30,” Mr Thomas posted on Facebook.

“He will attempt to break Bob Hawke's yard glass time of 11 seconds.”

Mr Fox has promised to record any attempts on the yard glass time.
