Youth in the spotlight
Broome's youngsters were the centre of attention earlier this month, with a host of activities held locally for National Youth Week.
The national celebration was held from April 10-19, with thousands of people aged 12-25 taking part in events across the nation each year.
In Broome, a sunset skate competition, a basketball match, a traditional bushtucker walk, a movie night and a graffiti and art session kept the town's youngsters busy.
The activities were rounded off with a party at Broome Civic Centre last Friday night.
Shire of Broome youth and community development officer Amy Andison said the week was a "huge success".
"We've had a great range of events on offer throughout the week organised by a range of youth service providers, including headspace, KAMSC, Broome Youth and Families Hub, Department of Parks and Wildlife, Youth Justice, Red Cross and the Shire of Broome," she said.
"The events have been well attended with a range of events have offered something for everyone."
