Jam-packed line-up planned for muster

Celebrity Chef Matt Moran will cook for hundreds of people at the Kimberley Kitchen and Durack Homestead Dinner.

The full program of events for this year's Ord Valley Muster has been finalised, with organisers again scheduling two nights for the ever-popular comedy show.

The jam-packed line-up kicks off on Friday, May 15, with the first of several Argyle Diamond Mine and Carlton Hill Station tours, the Wild Walk, the Kununurra Rodeo and acclaimed classical musician Peter Inglis in concert.

That weekend will also feature bumper Kununurra Markets, painting workshops, the annual KRL fundraiser, Flicker Film Festival and the popular Moon Fair.

A rogaining and orienteering event, to be held on Sunday, May 17, has also been added to the muster program for the first time.

The Monday will be the night of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival show at the Hoochery Distillery and, as with last year, a second night has been added on the Tuesday.

Celebrity chef Matt Moran will show off his talents when he hosts the Kimberley Kitchen on Wednesday, May 20, and the Durack Homestead Dinner on Thursday, May 21.

Other events include Muster Idol, Graves in the Long Grass, KATS Music Under the Stars, the Waringarri Corroboree, Picnic in the Park and the headline Kimberley Moon Experience.

Artopia Gallery will host its traditional event on May 16.

Australia's North West Tourism chief executive Glen Chidlow said the Muster showcased what the region had to offer.

"Kununurra is on the doorstep of some of WA's most extraordinary natural attractions, such as the Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle, and combining a visit to the Kimberley whilst experiencing the Ord Valley Muster is becoming more and more popular," he said.

"The mix of cultural, adventure, culinary and entertainment events throughout the 10-day event showcase the huge variety of experiences on offer."
