Club heads back to water

The Broome Surf Lifesaving Club are gearing up for a busy year, with the registration day to take place this Sunday.

The Broome Surf Life Saving Club is set to hold its registration day on Sunday.

The event will be hosted at the clubhouse at Cable Beach between 3pm and 5pm.

The club caters for nippers, cadets and all the way up to seniors.

Last year the club had more than 200 nippers, its most ever, while there is an emphasis on fun and inclusivity.

The club has an action-packed season of events planned, with activities set to begin in early May and run until September.

The Sunset Carnival is pencilled into the diary for July, while Broome is set to host the Northern Territory Championships in September.

Senior competition officer Ric Cockman said there was an opportunity for interested adults to upskill by completing their Surf Rescue Certificates.

He also stressed that new members of all ages were welcome to sign up.
