Yacht club to host gunfire breakfast

This year's Anzac Day gunfire breakfast will be held at the Port Hedland Yacht Club.

The traditional venue at the Pilbara Regiment headquarters in Wilson Street had to be changed because of ongoing renovations to the outside pergola.

PHYC commodore John Bartlem said he was happy to have received a last-minute licence to trade from 6am to 9am.

"It is still being hosted by the Pilbara Regiment and all proceeds from the event will go to Legacy," he said.

"We just wanted to make sure we had a good venue for the breakfast."

Mr Bartlem said people should make sure they come down after the Dawn Service.

"There'll be plenty of parking, good food and we hope to see everyone there," he said.

"The RSL will be continuing the festivities from 9am so people can wander over there afterwards."
