TMLB wins $20m Inpex contract

Mermaid Marine says its joint venture company Toll Mermaid Logistics Broome has won an Inpex contract, which it says will be worth $20 million.

TMLB will provide supply base services in Broome in support of Inpex’s Ichthys LNG project off the Kimberley coast. The contract is for an initial five-year term, with two five-year extension options.

Mermaid managing director Jeff Weber said the company was pleased to continue its working relationship with Inpex, having supported the company’s exploration campaign that led to the discovery of the Ichthys field.

"A key part of our ongoing strategy is to gain exposure to the major projects located in the Browse Basin," he said. "Inpex is planning production of 8.4mt of LNG and 1.6mt of LPG a year from Ichthys, along with 100,000 barrels of condensate.”

The product will undergo preliminary processing offshore before being piped to Darwin for onshore processing before export.
