Lean, green teams to clean
The South Hedland Street Blitz looks set to go next weekend with nine teams signed up for the annual cleaning challenge.
Care for Hedland, South Hedland New Living, South Hedland police, C3 Church, Hedland Senior High School, Crawford Realty, BHP Billiton, the Town of Port Hedland and North Coast Nursery will each field a team to create the tidiest street verge.
This year’s competition will be held around the Koombana area on June 30 from 10am to 11.30am, with a celebratory barbecue at the new Koombana Park directly after.
Care for Hedland Environmental Association chairwoman Kelly Howlett said the competition was an ideal way to focus on the image of South Hedland.
