Daniel Kerr's presence in Boulder's line-up for Sunday's Goldfields Football League clash with Railways had already impacted positively on the playing group, according to president Jeff Martin.

The former West Coast premiership player and Brownlow Medal runner-up debuted in the Tigers' thrilling draw with the defending premiers on what seemed to be a good fit for both parties.

After a handful of games with Denmark-Walpole in the Great Southern Football League, Kerr trained with his new teammates on Friday night and umpired a junior game the next day as his clearance was finalised.

Kerr returned to Perth yesterday, but Martin expects he will line up in the round 11 clash with Mines Rovers on June 21 after this weekend's general bye.

"We have a lot of young players - most of them are between 20 and 23," Martin said.

"That was one of the main reasons we looked at him (Kerr), to provide some experience for them.

"It was never just about getting a player - we wanted to make sure it was someone who would be beneficial to our young players and already we can see that."

But Martin stopped short of guaranteeing the former All-Australian would play out the season with the black and golds.

"The deal always was we'd get him here (to Kalgoorlie-Boulder) to see if he was a good fit for us and us for him," he said.

"We'll reassess that, but we think it went well and there is a role for him.

"But again, it depends on some other boxes being ticked before we can cement it in."

Martin said club officials had walked away from Sunday's clash confident Kerr was comfortable at his new club.

"Obviously he needs a bit of fitness, but he is looking at doing some work in the region and we hope that comes off," he said.

Boulder had five more scoring shots than Railways, but managed 10.11 (71) alongside the Panthers' 11.5 (71).

Kerr kicked one goal after roles up forward and in the midfield.
