Esperance District Football Association's 2015 league season has started with a bang as the traditionally dominant sides again find themselves atop the ladder.

Esperance sit atop of the ladder with a perfect record after three rounds, notching an excellent percentage of 183.15 after a number of big victories.

Ports are in second place, bouncing back from their round 1 loss to Bulldogs to record wins over Newtown/Condingup Lions and Gibson Tigers.

The Lions are third with a solitary win, while the winless Tigers are last.

In the latest round of action, Esperance showed why they are first in the standings with a 21.15 (141) to 7.8 (50) win over Gibson.

After leading by 15 points at quarter-time, the Bulldogs pushed away in the second and third terms, kicking 11 goals to four.

The win was completed in the final quarter as Esperance piled on five more goals while Gibson were restricted to just one point for the term.

Roger Parsons was the star up forward for the Bulldogs, kicking five goals - one of five Esperance players to kick multiple majors.

Jordan Whiting and Jeremiah Churchill toiled hard for the Tigers, kicking two each.

Ports got up over Newtown/Condingup in the round's other match, 13.12 (90) to 7.13 (55), in a hard-fought contest.

Ports duo Brock Thompson and Dylan Mogridge led the way, kicking seven goals between them in the win.

Mogridge leads all goal kickers after three rounds with 10 majors, while Parsons (nine) and Thompson (eight) are just behind him.

This weekend, Newtown/Condingup travel to Gibson, while Ports will attempt to hand Esperance their first loss of the season.
