The success of yesterday's Kalgoorlie-Boulder Autumn Flower Show has guaranteed the event's future for at least another year.

About 1000 green-thumbed flower lovers flocked to the Boulder Town Hall for the show, which had been staged for 90 years until it folded after the 2005 event.

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder pushed for its resurrection and public relations co-ordinator Lauren Chapman-Holle said the strong turnout meant the council's chief executive Don Burnett has already agreed it will be back next year.

There were 36 entries overall, with Anne Foale taking out the coveted roses category for her entry, "Paradise Rose".

Her granddaughter Delani Earl also entered the show. "I love flowers and I enjoy visiting nanny's garden because she has lots of flowers," Delani, 11, said.

The show attracted young and old, with eight-year-old Rebekah Carter winning the children's recycled goods category with her effort, "Egg Carton Flowers".
