Fringe theatre spoof

Fringe festivals the world over bring society’s weird and wacky together for a celebration of all things arts, but one former Esperance resident is turning the occasion on its head.

Chris Greenwood is the writer and director of Do You Get My Meaning? which spoofs the experimental theatre experience.

The adults-only play, presented by Groovy Boots Theatre, will be performed at Busselton’s Fringe Festival of Arts on March 14 and 15.

Mr Greenwood said he was inspired to write the show after seeing some local productions at Perth’s Fringe World Festival last year. “My wife suggested I should write something if I thought it was so easy,” he said.

“I tried to maintain an experimental theme for the show with a series of meaty roles for the players."

Do You Get My Meaning? plays at 7.30pm on March 14 and 15 at the Acting Up! Drama Studio, ArtGeo, Queen Street, Busselton. Tickets cost $17.50. Book at http://www.ffa busselton.com.au/performer/do-you-get-my-meaning/.
