Blaze monitored

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is continuing to monitor a bushfire burning in the Shire of Dundas.

The blaze began on Saturday afternoon. Norseman police said it began as the result of two men having a barbecue.

The fire is in a remote area north-west of Lake Johnson and is moving in a northerly direction.

The DFES said campers and travellers needed to be extremely careful in the area and motorists needed to travel slowly with their headlights on.

The department also warned motorists to be aware of emergency services working on site.

The Shire of Dundas is managing the fire and there is currently no threat to lives or homes.
