Sporting volunteers across Western Australia have the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Department of Sport and Recreation is celebrating the contribution of the thousands of volunteers who keep the State’s sporting communities playing with the Ultimate Volunteer Reward.
The Ultimate Volunteer Reward is a competition that offers 10 lucky volunteers the chance for a VIP look at what happens on event day and shadow those closest to the action with the Perth Wildcats, Western Force, West Coast Eagles, West Coast Fever and at the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro. Anyone aged between 15 and 30, who has done a minimum of five hours volunteer work at their local sport or recreation club, is eligible to enter.
Department of Sport and Recreation director general Ron Alexander said the competition highlights the tremendous and often unsung work volunteers do in sport and recreation clubs which ultimately makes our communities stronger, healthier, happier and safer.
“Volunteers collectively give thousands of hours a year,” Mr Alexander said. “They don’t always get recognised for their generous, tireless and enthusiastic work, whether they do the big jobs or the not-so-visible but equally important ones.”
The 10 prizes are divided into two categories.
