Coolgardie residents will be asked to choose one of two options for the proposed Coolgardie Recreation Precinct at an upcoming community consultation.
The Shire of Coolgardie may either centralise existing facilities, such as the pool, skate park, shire office, and post office complex, or build a brand-new self-contained facility, according to Shire deputy president Daphne Simmons.
She estimated the first option would cost $4-$5 million and the latter $20m.
For the first option, it has been proposed a section of Lefroy Street will be closed to traffic to create a pedestrian-only zone.
Ms Simmons stressed these plans were provisional and the shire was looking for detailed feedback from residents.
