Boy still in RPH

A 17-year-old boy accused of murdering a teenage girl at a remote Goldfields Aboriginal community is still being treated in hospital, the Perth Children's Court was told yesterday.

The teenager was transferred to Royal Perth Hospital having allegedly been assaulted after the death of the 17-year-old girl on December 9.

At the time he was charged, police said a metal bar was used to assault the girl and she was found dead in bushland near the remote community a short time later.

The boy appeared at a bedside hearing in RPH last week and was expected to have been released to be able to appear in court yesterday.
