Speed, inattention factors in crash

Police allege alcohol, speed and inattention were factors in a car crash in Boulder on Tuesday night.

Officers were forced to block off part of Burt Street after the crash between two vehicles occurred about 9.50pm.

Kalgoorlie Police officer in charge Danny Vincent alleged a 32-year-old woman from Boulder crashed her vehicle into the back of another car.

After the crash the woman has allegedly driven away from the scene, but crashed into nearby trees.

Both drivers received minor injuries.

The driver was taken to the Kalgoorlie Hospital and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.161 – more than three times the legal limit.

Under new legislation, the driver immediately lost her licence for two months.
