Fun Christmas in the park

Preparations are under way for the Church of Christ Kalgoorlie’s annual Christmas in the Park.

Now in its 12th year, the event will see bouncy castles, zorb balls and a merry-go-round set up in Centennial Park for anyone looking for a fun day out on December 25.

Organiser Tracey McCartney said the free event had grown considerably over the past 12 years, with all members of the community, not just those in need, invited to attend.

“There are so many people in Kalgoorlie who do not have family, or Dad may be working on Christmas Day, there are those who are just snowed under and coming to Christmas in the Park alleviates the stress of organising for the day,” she said

“We get tourists, backpackers, families, singles, elderly. It is for everyone. There is a lovely community atmosphere there on the day. It’s great.”

Ms McCartney said the Church of Christ was also looking for volunteers to help out on the day. Anyone interested in volunteering should phone her on 0417 991 435 or email tracey@kalcc.org.au.
