Goldfields child star Hamish Briggs is one day away from a dream live show with Australian entertainer Todd McKenney.

The 12-year-old will take centre stage at the Astor Theatre in Perth performing at the opening of McKenney’s new show Songs and Stories of Peter Allen.

Speaking to the Kalgoorlie Miner yesterday, Hamish was excited and upbeat about the opportunity, even though he had not seen the choreography he needs to learn before tomorrow night’s show.

“It is amazing to perform with him (McKenney), he is one of the best I reckon,” he said.

Hamish was picked as one of two WA children to perform in the show – nine-year-old Chloe Marlow will perform on Friday night – after an online competition that sought “child stars” aged between eight and 12.

He entered after meeting McKenney at an Australian Performing Arts Network function and was said to be one of the first picked.
