Football carnival a success

The Badimiya Hawks, a team from the Mid-West, have won this year's inaugural Goldfields Indigenous Lifestyle Development football carnival.

The event attracted teams from all over the region, with the Hawks defeating Norseman side Tjirntu Kulbirr 21.11 (137) to 8.9 (57).

Hawks coach Gary O’Brien said he was impressed with the quality of football played.

“We had a mix of younger blokes and older blokes which made a difference,” O’Brien said.
