Goldfields Titans' immediate future in rugby league's State competition will be decided at a special crisis meeting tonight.
The forum has been called after Titans’ 2012 campaign ended prematurely following two forfeits.
It was a scenario which clearly alarmed sections of the WA Rugby League hierarchy, amid concerns the local club was no longer sustainable.
In a special conference call with the Kalgoorlie Miner in August, WARL chief executive John Sackson outlined deficiencies in Titans’ ability to meet its formal licensing conditions.
“This is not social football – this is a properly administered community competition and certainly from our point of view, we aspire to run the best and most professional competition we can,” Sackson said.
