North Kalgoorlie Primary School students got their hands dirty last week when they went on a Junior Landcare bushwalk.

The students made seed balls and spread them around Karlkurla Bushland Park as part of the Junior Landcare program.

KBULG chief executive David Gleeson said the program had been very successful, with more than 120 classes registered from local primary schools.

“It is about encouraging kids to get outside and learn about biodiversity, deforestation and we are using the seed balls to promote reforestation,” he said.

“Karlkurla Park is such a great resource to learn about the woodlands and our local environment and the group is the perfect age to come out and learn about these things.”
