Fuel card available for country pensioners
Fuel card available for country pensioners

Goldfields residents are being reminded of their possible eligibility for the Country Aged Pension Fuel Card.

The fuel card is available to a wide range of people living in regional WA, including those in receipt of a Centrelink age pension, carer payments, disability support pension or a veterans affairs service pension.

Nationals MLC Wendy Duncan said the card was a part of a promise made during the last election.

“It was in recognition of the inequity that pensioners in the city received subsidised public transport and in the country they don’t,” she said. “It is the thing we get the most thank you letters into Brendon Grylls office about.”

The card can also be used to pay taxi fares.
