A decision to enter local awards proved timely for a Boulder laundry.
Goldfields Laundry Service has been named Business of the Year, as well as the best business with 21 or more people.

Handed down by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the two awards have left GLS owner Geof Bloomfield, 43, stunned and amazed.

“They were the first two awards we have ever nominated for,” he said.

“To win the prestigious title of Business of the Year was a complete surprise.

“You must be at the top of your game to take out that prize with all the terrific entrants, so it is a great pat on the back for our fantastic staff.”

Mr Bloomfield said he had been asked many times to nominate, but had never seriously considered it before now.
