Victim wants nephew imprisoned
Recovering assault victim Stevan Lennon says the nephew who bashed him and left him for dead needs to be imprisoned.
Mr Lennon has been confined to a wheelchair since he was attacked by Brian Joseph Nybo in May, 2011.
Nybo stood trial in the Kalgoorlie District Court last week and was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm to his uncle.
Speaking publicly yesterday for the first time since the verdict was handed down, Mr Lennon gave an unequivocal opinion.
“He needs jail,” he told the Kalgoorlie Miner. “He’s on the bad stuff, that’s only going to get worse if he stays out.”
After Nybo attacked him, Mr Lennon was left unconscious in his bed for more than 24 hours before an ambulance was called.
