Men's Shed gets welcome boost

Thanks to the generosity of BP, members of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Men’s Shed will now be able to purchase a hydraulic lifter for their centre.

BP Terminal Manager Glenn Anderson presented a cheque for $1000 to the Men’s Shed yesterday.

Mr Anderson said being new to the area, he did a bit of research on local charities and not-for-profit organisations and chose the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Men’s Shed as the recipient for the donation.

“The Men’s Shed project appealed to me personally as men’s wellbeing does not always receive a lot of coverage,” Mr Anderson said.

“It looked like a great service and something both myself and BP would be proud to contribute to.”

Eastern Goldfields Community Centre Co-ordinator Sue Nybo said the generous donation will help the centre purchase equipment that would otherwise be difficult to raise funds for.
