Laverton a new experience for police pair
Laverton a new experience for police pair

Laverton police station welcomed two new constables earlier this month, Bradley Ward and Sarah Humphreys.

Originally from Stirling, the pair transferred to Laverton less than two weeks ago after completing a 12-month stint in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Const Humphreys said she was looking forward to a completely different work experience.

“In the city you go to a job and you finish your job and the chances of you actually bumping into the people you have helped are extremely slim,” Const Humphreys said.

“Where here or even Kalgoorlie, a lot of the people you are helping out everyday you bump into them down the shops.”

Const Ward also agreed the rewards of country policing outweighed those available in the metropolitan area.

“I think you actually become part of the community (rather) than work for it,” Const Ward said.
