Boulder celebrates historic site in style

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder held a council meeting at the Boulder Town Hall on Monday night, to celebrate the reopening of the historic site.

Councillors, staff and residents packed the council chamber, located on the second storey of the newly repaired building, for the city’s fortnightly ordinary meeting.

The meeting marked the beginning of a week of celebrations to commemorate the reopening of the hall, damaged during the 2010 Boulder earthquake.

Historic hall tours started yesterday and will continue today and on Thursday at 1.30pm.

In the lead up to the hall’s reopening, mayor Ron Yuryevich said the council also had plans for further development of the hall.

“Although the hall has had the earthquake repairs, there is still a lot of work to be undertaken,” Mr Yuryevich said.
