Clinic aims to reduce ear disease

The Telethon Speech and Hearing Earbus visited Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Thursday.

Local health workers attended a presentation by Earbus staff in an attempt to drum up support for the program.

Five mobile ear clinics are operating in WA, as part of the Earbus program.

Telethon Speech and Hearing chief executive Paul Higginbotham said if a bus was introduced in the Goldfields it would aim to visit every school in the region once a term.

“We are interested in seeing if we can help get the middle ear (disease) prevalence down right across the State,” Mr Higginbotham said.

“In the Goldfields there are some good things happening so it would be great if we were able to add some value to that.”
