Couple gutted at $20,000 robbery

A Boulder couple fears a close acquaintance may have been behind the theft of nearly $20,000 worth of valuable tools and car equipment from their home.

Gail and Andrew Alcock were at home early Sunday morning when Mrs Alcock heard a number of suspicious noises from the rear of their Clancy Street property.

“The dogs were barking and then about 10 minutes later I heard a car start out the front of the house – there’s no reason for anyone to be there that time of night,” she said.

“I was concerned someone was trying to pinch my husband’s car or my bike.”

While the door of their back shed had been left open, Mrs Alcock said nothing else seemed amiss.

It was only when she and her husband Andrew checked the shed that morning did they realise thieves had cleaned the shed out.
