Local BMX officials will now extend its major push to host next year’s State titles following the resounding success of last weekend’s super series at the newly-revamped Marshall Street headquarters.
With 130 entrants for the club meeting on Friday and 340 for both the Saturday and Sunday competitions, committeeman Adrian Miles said a new ramp – which was formally unveiled on Saturday after a six-month works project and dubbed Kal Vegas – proved it could handle the wear and tear the many hundreds of visiting riders at the State championships would provide.
The Eastern Goldfields BMX Club has already taken a significant step in their latest pursuits by being granted the rights to the 2013 super series – also over the June long weekend.
“The success of the weekend has blown everyone away and has increased the BMX brand,” Miles said.
“Everyone, including riders and supporters who attended, loved it."
