Police raise concern for missing man

Police have raised serious concerns for a 24-year-old man missing in the Ravensthorpe area.

Navid Afrasiabi has been missing from his Perth home since May 22, having last been seen on May 15 at a Salter Point residence.

Police in Jerramungup, about 110km west of Ravensthorpe, located Mr Afrasiabi yesterday while investigating fuel drive-offs in the area.

However, the 24-year-old later escaped custody about halfway between Ravensthorpe and Jerramungup.

An air and land search of the area between the towns began about 11am yesterday.

Police and Mr Afrasiabi’s family now fear he could be missing in the Fitzgerald River National Park, or other nearby bushland areas.
