Top six places for kids these holidays

If you’re running out of ideas to keep the kiddies entertained these Easter school holidays, then we’ve got a few ideas to help you out.

There’s something for everyone!

Western Australian Museum, Geraldton

Geraldton’s WA Museum have got things sorted for the school holidays with a whole list of events to keep the kids entertained.

The museum is holding activities such as the Hunter and the Hunted, Family of Three, Reptiles Rule and Button it Naturally, which will run until April 28, and the Activity Corner and Trails running until July 3.

All events will run from 9.30am to 4pm.

The City of Greater Geraldton, Regional Library

While Geraldton Regional Library's school holiday programs have booked out fast, there is still heaps to keep the kids entertained.

An extensive collection of books and resources for children of all ages available to borrow, plus a designated youth hang out space.

Orana Cinemas

There are a range of fantastic films on this holiday season, and the cinema is a perfect way to escape the blistering heat.

Greenough Hamlet

The hamlet is a collection of historical buildings and is described as a ‘Village frozen in time’.

Once home to more than 100 people, the hamlet comprises 11 of Greenough’s oldest original buildings all of which have been faithfully restored.

Buildings include a courthouse, police station, school and church. Stroll through and capture the feeling of life in the 17th Century.

The hamlet is open daily from 9am to 4pm, and entry fees do apply.

The Greenough Pioneer Museum can be found at 11 Phillips Road, off the Brand Highway, Greenough.

Hampton Arms Inn

The historic Hampton Arms Inn is a place where time has stopped. Featuring an extensive and interesting library, and a bric-a-brac curiosity shop.

With a kitchen and bar, it makes the perfect place to spend an afternoon, with enough to entertain both kids and mum and dad.

Dongara Denison Drive-In Cinema

The Dongara Denison Drive-In will get in to the holiday spirit with a screening of kids flick Frozen this Sunday (April 20).

Gates open at 6pm with adults $10 and kids $5. The cinema is located on Ridley Street, Point Leander Drive, Dongara.
