Hole-in-one 'every golfer's dream'

Julie Woodcock hit a hole-in-one on Sunday at Stableford.

Geraldton golfer Julie Woodcock is popping champagne after hitting a hole-in-one in Stableford on Sunday.

The Geraldton Golf Club member has been playing every week at the club for 12 years and is the first female at the club to be added to the honour board since 2011.

Woodcock said it was every golfer’s dream to hit a hole-in-one.

“I was ecstatic when I realised I had hit a hole-in-one and was really surprised,” she said.

“It dropped in as we got to the green, so I actually watched it go into the hole — it was amazing.

“Every golfer’s dream is to hit a hole-in-one — to achieve it feels wonderful.”

Woodcock is also the first member of the club to score a hole-inone for 2014 and the first member to get a hole on the new marker on hole 13.

She said she was really honoured to have a hole-in-one on her golfing achievements.

“I’ll get my name added to the honour board and a commemorative pin for my visor, but the best prize is knowing that I have hit a hole-in-one,” she said.
