Jurien Bay mum wants to ditch nits for good

It’s back to school time and that means back to routine, back to learning and back to bringing home nits. But not for long.

Jurien Bay mother of seven children under the age of nine, Kate Atkins, is well on her way to stopping the spread of lice in Jurien Bay and beyond.

According to the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, lice are an epidemic in this country and 20 per cent of primary school children may have the crawling critters.

Kate and her partner came up with their own lice-killing solution, Nits in the Ditch, four years ago after trying several commercial brands.

“My daughter was constantly coming home from school with nits,” she said.
