Police will show no tolerance to rowdiness and street drinking at tomorrow’s Australia Day celebrations at the Geraldton Foreshore.

Sen. Sgt Martin Haime warned $200 fines for street drinkers and move-on notices would be exercised, with a large police presence expected.

He said police wanted to ensure proceedings were family-friendly.

“It’s a time for families and friends to come together and celebrate what the spirit of Australia is all about,” he said.
