Two decades on and spirit bright
“All for the kids” has been the motivation for Ian and Marilyn Heberle behind constructing their annual Christmas lights display for more than 20 years.
That effort paid off when the display at their Eric St home was judged the best for Christmas 2012. Co-ordinated by the two Spirit FM radio stations, 98.1 and 96.5, it was sponsored by Batavia Furniture & Bedding and Lets Party.
With so many displays nominated, the judges travelled around Geraldton in a bus provided by Highway Auto Barn to judge the winner before Christmas.
They were impressed by the Heberle display, which was based on the hit song made famous by Rolf Harris, Six White Boomers.
Lighting up the six white boomers was a labour of love for Mr Heberle.
