Beachlands Kindergarten students didn t really get the humour of the WA treasurer having trouble adding up on his fingers, but Troy Buswell was a hit in their eyes.
$1.8m kindergarten gets tick from Beachlands kids

State Treasurer Troy Buswell was a hit with Beachlands Kindergarten students as he announced that $1.8 million will be spent on a new kindergarten block.

It might have been lost on the children but adults appreciated the humour as the Minister feigned difficulty adding up with his fingers.

Mr Buswell was accompanied by Geraldton MLA Ian Blayney.

Mr Blayney said Beachlands Primary School was an important part of the greater Geraldton education system that caters for a large multicultural community where Aboriginal children represent 50 per cent of students.

“The Liberal-National Government has, and will continue to, invest significantly in capital works projects in schools throughout Western Australia to further enhance the wonderful academic and vocational programs they offer,” Mr Blayney said.
