Former West Australian attorney-general and treasurer Christian Porter will address delegates at the Mid West Economic and Resources Summit.

Mr Porter is set to deliver a fascinating overview of his outlook of State and Federal treasury issues and its impact on the resources sector.

Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Bill Headley said Mr Porter’s address will provide an interesting view point of the economy.

“We’re looking forward to hearing what Mr Porter thinks on how the Federal and State relations might go in the future,” he said.

“Mr Porter will be able to offer some very valuable insight into this matter, particularly given his experience in carrying two of the State Government’s largest portfolios and his new pursuits in the Federal arena.”

The former WA treasurer announced his resignation from State Parliament in June to pursue a career in Federal politics.

Mr Porter has since won the recommendation of the Liberal Party pre selectors for the federal seat of Pearce and now awaits official endorsement by the state Liberal council.
