Public hits out at bus services

Bus services in Geraldton are about to undergo a major overhaul with TransGeraldton planning a major re-routing to eliminate empty buses and provide more frequent access in and out of the CBD.

The bus service is planning to change the major routes 101, 201, 301, 401, 601 and 800.

WA’s Public Transport Authority said the changes were “designed to provide a faster, more direct journey into town, at a higher frequency”.

“An improved service on Saturday’s is also proposed,” the PTA said.

Many of the TransGeraldton buses operate with little to no passengers on some routes and there has been continued criticism of the routes, ticketing and frequency.
