Graduating students in regional towns across WA are being encouraged to enrol in the WA Media Institute for a Bachelor Communications degree.
The BA Comms degree has a major in journalism but offers a career path into myriad of fields including public relations, marketing, communications, corporate relations and government.
The WA Media Institute is based in Geraldton but the course is conducted largely online using the most sophisticated online learning tools and administered by one of Australia’s leading journalism schools, Charles Sturt University NSW.
Students only need to attend the Geraldton campus for one week every year.
Students enrolled last year from Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Port Headland, Geraldton, Perth, Albany and Broome.
Six students from the initial student group and now fully employed in media, public relations and marketing roles.
