Car crash chaos: Three dead, two fighting for life after horror night on Australian roads

Chaos has unfolded on Australian roads overnight with five separate car crashes claiming multiple lives and leaving others fighting for life in hospital just three weeks away from Christmas.

New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia are dealing with the aftermath of the horror night that saw three fatalities along with one teenager hit by a truck and another thrown from a rolling car.

More than 1200 motorists have now lost their lives on Australian roads in the last 12-months, a figure that history says will grow over the festive season.
