Crews fight house fire in Melbourne's north as smoke clouds fill air
Fire crews have managed to bring a house fire in Melbourne's north under control, that sent thick smoke clouds billowing in the air.
The blaze at Botanica Boulevard, in Bundoora, is believed to have started just after 10am on Wednesday.
The top floor was well alight when fire crews arrived, and luckily nobody was home at the time.
The fire was contained to the second (top) floor and neighbouring properties were protected from the blaze, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade said in a statement.
It took six fire trucks and 25 firefighters about 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The cause has not yet been determined.
