SA urged to follow bushfire plans

Residents on the Adelaide fringes are being asked to follow their bushfire survival plans as crews battle a blaze near Torrens Vale.

The Country Fire Service is warning residents to be aware of smoke as it responds to a scrub fire on the lower Fleurieu Peninsula.

Total fire bans were declared until midnight on Saturday across parts of the state.

Severe fire danger is forecast for the northwest pastoral, west coast, mid north and Mount Lofty ranges districts, where the bans are in place.

Hot and very dry weather is expected throughout the weekend.

The CFS says people in affected areas should implement bushfire survival plans and be prepared to leave before a fire starts.

Temperatures in Adelaide are forecast to hit 32C on Saturday, and climb to 35C by Tuesday.
