Territory refines its design

The new Ford Territory.

Hot on the heels of revealing its last-ever Falcon, Ford has officially lifted the lid on the new Territory's design.

The last SUV to be made in Australia, changes to the Territory are more subtle than those found on the upcoming Falcon. The sole image released by Ford so far reveals an altered front grille and fog lights. Any changes to the rear are as yet unknown, though it is thought little will be different compared to the current model.

Ford exterior design manager Nima Nourian said the design team had gone for a "new level of visual appeal" with the 2014 Territory.

"For 2014 the Territory gains a more robust yet refined design and you won't mistake it for anything else but a Territory," he said. "Visually, the surfacing is more architectural and achieves a very cohesive and sophisticated look."

Pricing details are yet to be revealed.

The arrival of the updated Falcon and Territory marks a large-scale refreshment of Ford's Australian line-up, including a face-lifted Focus, new Mondeo, Mustang and Everest SUV.
