Darren Palmer’s floor show

Interior designer and television personality Darren Palmer has collaborated with Carpet Court to design an exclusive collection of floor rugs.

To be released in June, the Provincial Lane range is designed to complement the existing flooring of the same name, which includes carpet, vinyl, laminate and stained oak timber.

The Reno Rumble and The Block judge said the rugs were a natural extension of the flooring offerings.

“Exceptional spaces start with the flooring and end with the right rug,” he said. “All the other design choices in between are important but it’s those large items which ground a room, set the tone and unify the rest of the pieces.”

Showcasing natural textures and high-quality weaves, the collection includes entry-level styles as well as premium options, from cotton blends to hand-crafted wool piles.

With designs ranging from sophisticated greys to geometric motifs to a beautiful dip-dyed blue style, Palmer said the rugs could be adapted to suit an array of interiors. “I’ve kept the colour palette simple and instead experimented with patterns and textures, delivering the highest quality options,” he said.

While he said it was hard to choose a favourite design, Assos was a highlight.

“I love products that speak to nature with earthy tones and pure products,” Palmer said. “I’ve often said that rugs are the ultimate versatile option for bringing a room to life and the Assos rug does this effortlessly for a range of styles and tastes.”
