Babycino set to help out Telethon

Forget the frothy milk and dusting of chocolate - the best part of a babycino is the marshmallow, according to three-year-old expert Ava Zempilas.

The little girl and her 10-month-old sister Chloe braved the cold weather yesterday to join their mother Amy at the launch of the Babycinos for Bambinos campaign in support of Telethon.

Cafes are being urged to sign up to take part in the campaign.

Customers place a donation in collection buckets in return for the babycino. Mrs Zempilas, a Babycinos for Bambinos ambassador, said it was a fun, easy way to support a cause close to her family's hearts: raising money for Telethon.

"My girls love babycinos, so we're really excited to be involved with this fantastic campaign raising money for the kids of WA and Telethon," she said.

"We're hoping lots of cafes will come on board to support Babycinos for Bambinos and in turn lots of mums, dads, grandparents, aunties and uncles will support their local cafes."

Telethon fundraising manager Ashlie Hirniak said the project was a great way for the cafe community to raise money to improve the lives of children.

"Rather than charging parents, the cafes can simply invite the customer to donate to Telethon instead," Ms Hirniak said.

"Participating cafes will have the Babycinos for Bambinos sticker on their front window or door, so keep an eye out."
