World at Pauley's feet

At just 21 years of age, Perth's Sarah Pauley is living a life most can only dream about.

Since launching her modelling career eight years ago, the striking redhead has leapt from strength to strength, working in fashion capitals around the globe both on the catwalk and in front of the camera.

After an extended period abroad, the tall beauty, who is represented locally by Chadwick's Perth, is back in Australia to visit family before heading to Melbourne to star in Myer's annual autumn/winter fashion showcase alongside Jennifer Hawkins next week.

"I'm pretty excited because I haven't worked in Australia for easily six or seven months," she told AAA Weekend while back in Perth this week ahead of the prestigious event.

"I've been away from the scene for a while and this is not quite a comeback but it's a good way to start the year. I've worked with Myer numerous times in past years so it will be good to reclaim the runway."

Splitting her time between London and her new home in Los Angeles, the last 12 months have been a complete blur for Pauley.

But one thing stands out as a highlight - shooting for fashion giant Vogue magazine.

"I shot for Vogue India last year in Dubai, which was pretty fun," Pauley said.

"I got taken away for two days and was put up in a hot air balloon and on top of some ridiculous hotel standing on the edge of the building overlooking all of Dubai. There was no harness or anything so my life was at risk but it was worth it in the name of fashion."

In-between gracing the pages of magazines, Pauley has found love with Mickey Church, the frontman of US band White Arrows.

"He's amazing," she enthused of her new beau.

"I met him when I first landed and we just hit it off. It was interesting how we met - I was at a party and I heard somebody say 'I hate Australians', and I turned around and was like 'What are you talking about?' He told me I misheard the conversation but I decided I was going to make him like an Australian."

Following the Myer show, Pauley plans to stay on the east coast for a few months before heading back to Los Angeles to embark on an acting career.
