How to make a DIY Easter bunny on wheels

Picture: Bosch

Celebrate Easter with this cute DIY project from Bosch.

Kids will love the bunny, which has wheels to pull him along, and will be delighted with it as a decorative toy long after Easter.

This project is suitable for moderate-level DIYers.

You will need:

How to:

1. Print the bunny template (you could also find your own shape online to trace, or draw your own), cut it out then trace the outline of the rabbit on to the pine board with a pencil.

2. Clamp the board to your workbench and cut out the bunny neatly using the right sabre saw blade. Cut the dowel to the right length (say 14cm).

3. Sand the edges thoroughly so the bunny is smooth to the touch.

4. Drill holes in the feet and wheels, using an 8mm drill bit. Push the dowelling through the two holes and add the wheels in the same way. Finally, screw an eyebolt with a wooden thread into the front axle and fix a length of cord to it as a “bunny lead.”

TIP: To make your own wheels, simply use a hole saw attachment to cut the wheels out of your leftover wood (6cm in diameter) and then sand them well (see step 3).
