Models dressed for success

WA's brightest modelling talents are eagerly awaiting the moment they strut out on to the runway at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival this year.

But before they storm the catwalk, the beauties are facing hours of preparation as they are transformed for the diverse line-up of shows, each with a completely different hair and make-up look.

To help them on their way, designer Natasha Hinett, from local label House of SKYE, has given a new wrap dress to a handful of Chadwick's Perth top models, including Grady Wulff, Caris Tiivel, Cassie Antunovich and Chloe Park.

Designed to take them from the street to the make-up chair and beyond the catwalk to one of the showcase's afterparties, the classic black dress has become a must-have item for the women.

"It's the perfect dress for fashion week. It's easy to take on and off and it's very comfy," Tiivel said.

Antunovich said the wraparound style would stop them spoiling their runway look when changing backstage.

"It will definitely keep hair and make-up happy," she said. "There are definitely afterparties and after-show events that it will be really good for. You can go straight out after the shows."

While it is the first time Park will walk in the festival, the other three models have all taken part in the event before but said they were expecting a "bigger and better" showcase this time around.

Wulff said the shows at Ascot Racecourse , Ruth Tarvydas - A Celebration, and Galvanised - Ultimate Show-Stoppers, both supported by The West Australian, would give an edge to the festival.
