The legacy of Ruth Tarvydas will be honoured with a retrospective runway show at Ascot Racecourse on September 19 in front of the festival’s largest ever audience and featuring “that” red dress Rebecca Twigley wore to the Brownlow Medal Count in 2004.

Twigley, now Rebecca Judd, will attend and walk in the Tarvydas show as homage to the late designer.

A group show, also taking place at Ascot on September 19, called Galvanised – Ultimate Show Stoppers will also honour Tarvyas, and has a glittering line-up of star designers including Aussie fashion king Alex Perry and leading design trio Manning Cartell.

Perry will also attend the annual Myer Fashion Lunch at the State Reception Centre on September 18, which will once again feature the department store’s male face Kris Smith on the runway.

The Telstra Perth Fashion Festival runs from September 17 to 22.
